EU Funding
From 2007 to 2013, the economic development of Lower Saxony is essentially supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). In a competition of ideas and concepts, particularly those projects are supported which contribute to the creation of jobs and economic growth.For the target area „Regional competitiveness and employment“ a total of 638 million Euro is made available. The funding support comprises a wide range of topics classified into four focusses:
- Increase in industrial competitiveness and employment, in particular with regard to SMEs
- Development of innovative capacity and knowledge society
- Support of specific infrastructures for sustainable growth
- Environment and sustainable urban development
Four employees coordinate the measures in Hannover Region which are supported by funds of the European Regional Development Fund. Their tasks include the following:
- Consultancy for small and medium-sized companies (SME) for individual company investment support as well as the complete handling of the funding programme.
- Provision of information and involvement of the cities and communities of Hannover Region
- Information and consultancy of public institutions and companies on specific EU funding programmes
