The Learning Lab Lower Saxony (L3S), which is also at home in EXPO Park Hannover, is a research co-operation project between several German and international universities including the University of Stanford. L3S is involved in research, consulting and technology transfer, as well as infrastructure and support for innovative teaching and learning technologies for training and further education.
L3S has been responsible for co-ordinating the European Union’s “Professional Learning” (PROLEARN) excellence network since January 2004. Within PROLEARN, L3S co-ordinates a consortium of 19 prestigious European partners, including the Open University UK, the Ariadne Foundation and the Fraunhofer Society institutes. The project involves more than 215 scientists. PROLEARN also integrates around 100 additional institutes and companies such as British Telecom, Microsoft, IBM, etc.
