Hannover Region is a modern industrial location, service centre, place of trade and the world's largest area for trade fairs. Around 25 percent of the economic services in the second largest German federal district, Lower Saxony, are created here. 80 percent of all those working here have completed professional education, an A level or university degree. The economic dynamics of this mature location for machine and automotive construction is reflected in the constant growth of modern product-service combinations from the areas of transport, logistics, communication, tourism, congress and event management.

Hannover is the geographical centre of Europe and an European traffic hub: Around a third of the EU population can be reached by car – that is around 130 million people. Whether international airport, main traffic arteries of the ICE rail network or the German road network – almost every way leads to or through Hannover.
