It stopped being an experiment a long time ago: The capital of Lower Saxony has established itself as a robust life sciences location in recent years. Around 150 companies in the medical technology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and chemicals industries have set up in the region. This includes established companies like Solvay Arzneimittel or Hörgeräte KIND – the market leader in the hearing aid sector. And newcomers such as AdnaGen and mosaiques (both in the diagnostics sector) and artiss (tissue engineering research) all deliberately chose to locate in Hannover Region.
The Hannover Medical Park lies at the heart of an expanding
business and research complex. The infrastructure of the Medical Park
enables laboratories to be extended to meet S1-S3 standards.
Established and successful companies in the biotechnology and medical
technology sectors are already operating in the Medical Park and
immediate neighborhood. Just a short walk away are the Hannover Medical School, the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine, and the International Neuroscience Institute (INI).
Hannover Clinical Trial Center GmbH (HCTC)
HCTC offers professional management of clinical studies in accordance with international standards throughout Germany. HCTC arose from a joint venture by hannoverimpuls and the Hannover Medical University.
Projektzentrum BiomeTI
The "Projektzentrum BiomeTI" (Project Centre BiomeTI) bundles the competence of regional biomedical technology under one roof. hannoverimpuls has created an effective management unit here at the interface between medical and engineering science research areas.

The start-up and relocation competition offers the ideal preconditions for a successful entry to the market in Hannover and the region: rent-free office and working spaces, strategic coaching, intensive networking and many extras are given out for innovative business concepts from the hannoverimpuls key industries.EU Funding
With hannoverimpuls small to medium sized enterprises in the Hannover Region can apply for sponsorship funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Investments are sponsored which are linked to entrepreneurial innovation and create added value and jobs. Up to five million Euros are available up to 2013 for the region.
