Promoting start-up, growth and relocation for companies in our region is our task. At the focus of our concern are the six sectors which stand for particular sustainable growth and great potential for innovation and work places: Automotive, Energy Solutions,Information and Communications Technology, Life Sciences, Optical Technologies and Production Engineering.

hannoverimpuls has set its goal in continuing to develop these sectors into regional competency centres of the highest quality through targeted promotion and intensive networking – even beyond the boundaries of each sector. Since in many areas there are additional synergies and intersections which can be used by all of those involved.

And that is why these six sectors are so important for us:

• Automotive is the most important industrial branch in Hannover. More than 30,000 people are employed in the automotive industry in Hannover. With this service, we belong to the top 5 locations in Germany.
• Energy Solutions Hannover – a location which in terms of energy and CO2 efficiency in research, development, production and application is without equal throughout Europe. For 175 years, Hannover has been in a leading position in the field of energy provision. 
• Information and Communications Technology Over 1,200 companies with 23,000 employees make Hannover into an IT location of the premium class.  – and during the globally renowned CeBit trade fair, the city becomes the focal point of the IT world.
• Life Sciences Hannover brings life to Life Sciences. Since our university and research landscape is one of the most valued in Germany. And it’s just a small step to the implementation of research results in Hannover.
• Optical Technologies Hannover shows an eye for proportion when considering the networking of research and production in the field of optical technology. And over a period of many years already – the internationally leading “Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH)”, for example, has been around for over 20 years.
• Production Engineering has been at home in Hannover for a long time. Good ideas and products are delivered continuously here, for example, the “Produktionstechnisches Zentrum Hannover (PZH)” (i. e. Hannover Production Technology Centre) has a unique space of 20,000 m² for work and research.
