The Hannover Region is home to a big community of research and educational institutions with a university, applied science universities, multimedia training schools and several research institutes. These stimulate the continuous transfer of expertise and technology, and underpin the broad spectrum of training available in the area in the information and communications technology sector.

The EXPO Park is an established center for ICT-focused institutions of higher education and is not only home to a multimedia vocational school but also to several faculties of the Hannover University of Applied Science and Arts, and the Hannover University of Music and Drama.

Hannover IT (HIT)

Hannover IT forms the common umbrella body for the Hannover IT e. V. and the Project Centre Hannover IT GmbH. The aim is to promote science and education for the information and communications sector and to support the performance ability of the region through the initiation of IT projects and cooperations between economy and science.
