The “Projektzentrum Automotive” which was founded in May 2005 represents a new service for the automobile sector of Hannover. It operates at the interface between industry and research by connecting automobile manufacturers and subcontractors with the research units of Hannover. The “Projektzentrum Automotive” is the first point of call when scientifc answers are sought for technical questions from the automotive industry.

The initiators of the Projektzentrum Automotive are hannoverimpuls, the university facility ZFKS - Zentrum für Fahrzeugkomponenten und -systeme (i.e. Centre for Automotive Components and -Systems) and the  IPH - Institut für Integrierte Produktion Hannover gGmbH (i.e. Institute of Integrated Production Hannover). The IPH in the “Wissenschaftspark” (i.e. Science Park) Hannover-Marienwerder manages the office of the “Projektzentrum” with two employees.
