Profile and Goals

Start-up, Growth and Relocation of businesses in the Hannover region – that is the task and the aim of hannoverimpuls. The organisation was founded in 2003 as a business development company in the regional capital and for Hannover Region. The organisation focuses on six different key industries which stand for exemplary growth, job potential and innovation: Automotive, Energy Solutions,Information and Communications Technology, Life Sciences, Optical Technologies and Production Engineering.

This consistent focus is unique within Germany. The cooperation between the regional economy and local scientific centres such as Hannover Medical School or the “Laser Zentrum Hannover”, LZH stands very much in the foreground. With this close connection between industry, science and potential partners, the ideal conditions for industry growth and cluster development can be created.

hannoverimpuls offers industry-wide support for start-up businesses together with the “Technologie-Centrum Hannover” (TCH) and many other regional partners. Potential self-employed and young companies will have their way to founding their own companies illuminated with the help of innovative start-up competitions and practice-oriented seminars and workshops.
With two funds, hannoverimpuls takes a share in the financial success of promising companies in the early stages of financing and/or further phases in development. The growth of existing companies is supported with competitions for promoting their innovation potential.

With targeted relocation initiatives, the business developers canvass for the strengths of the economic region of Hannover throughout the country and also internationally. Companies that are interested will be looked after thoroughly and on a personal basis with competent partners from the very first query through to a concrete search for premises.

In addition, the hannoverimpuls Ausbildung e.V. (i.e. hannoverimpuls vocational training registered association) creates new training places and supports small and medium sized enterprises in particular in application management and training management. Together with companies, chambers (of commerce), unions, politics and administration, the club initiates and coordinates projects in order to secure the needs-oriented development of qualified specialist personnel in Hannover Region.
With this structure and using processes which focus on sustainability and success, innovative newcomers and climbers within the market will find an optimal environment for business development and growth in Hannover.

Success to date shows that hannoverimpuls is right: Around 2,742 company relocations/start-ups and 9,033 new jobs have been created since the start of hannoverimpuls. The aim is to create around 28,000 jobs up to 2012.
